After some thought, I’ve decided to switch to a blogger account. I think it’s easier than w.p., but I guess I’ll find out. I’ve had a good time on this blog but I may not be finished depending on how the blogger account.
My newest Knit Picks order came today. I love getting mail because it’s fun and nice to get a package every once in a while. I ordered some of their new Simply Cotton Heather in Bermuda Blue and some Suri Dreams in Atlantic. I plan to use the blue cotton for Que Sera by Kirsten Kapur from Knitty Spring+Summer 2010. The Suri Dreams will become some kind of cardigan or sweater, I was thinking the Best Friend Cardigan by Wenlen Chia. If you haven’t checked out Knit Picks it’s at least worth a gander, I’ve heard they have great customer service. I ordered some new options needles from them a few months ago and I’ve been pleased with them so far.
Eventually, I also want to make Wrenna from French Girl Knits. It’s very cute and with chunky yarn and big needles.
Last week I got pretty much all of my hair chopped off. Not in a bad way. I think my new haircut looks pretty good and I especially like that it’s so short in the back.
Lastly, I thinking about maybe switching to a blogger account instead, but I’m not sure. I think it might be easier to manage and write posts. Hmm… is it any easier to add pictures? While I haven’t added any in this post I’d like it to be simpler to add pictures. That and a SLR camera.
I have come to realize it’s hard to keep up with a blog. I hope you aren’t mad at me for not posting for a while, I’m still here. Though I have been buried alive in school work I have been able to do some crafting. Between the gap I have made…
and a spring beret and a 1 row lace cowl. It seems like so much all at once but really it has been about 3 months.
Thanks again to Knitting Turnip at Gumi-Gumi island for having the contest. I got 4th and get her cute baby bunny in bunny suit pattern. She is also having a Halloween contest. So on to mermaid progress pictures. Here she is in all her not quite doneness

For the end of summer I decided to make a mermaid. I looked on Ravelry and couldn’t find one I really like that well so
I’m making it up as I go (and writing it down of course). So far she has a bald head, arms, and the beginning of a tail. I’m still not sure how I want to do the fins but I’ll cross that bridge when I come to it. Other than that I’ve been finishing up a lot of amigurumi recently.
I’ll be back soon with progress pics from my mermaid.-Abbie
